Everybody loves fried chicken. Having a fast food restaurant or franchise is an incredibly profitable business all around the world. I’m talking KFC, MC Donald, Chicken Inn, and others. In fact, Americans have even given fried chicken its own “national day” on 6 July, and in a lighthearted recent survey by a San Francisco PR firm, 16% of respondents said that they would marry fried chicken if they could! Can you believe that? I can’t. I personally have a liking (probably an obsession) with friend chicken, as is every other young adult female out there.
The dilemma comes in when you find yourself on the couch, a bucket of fried chicken down and you check your order list on our ITISHA delivery app only to find ‘fried chicken and chips combo with a 2ltr soda’ on almost everyday for the past week. That’s when you start questioning your life choices, thoughts like “Maybe I should eat more greens…” and “I should start eating healthy…” and perhaps “A salad doesn’t sound so bad…”. I mean, that’s just your brain trying to do damage control. At the back of your head you know you will order a bucket for dinner. The big question is, IS THERE HEALTHY FRIED CHICKEN?

The answer, well, everyone has a version of their own and what works for them. Some of them very peculiar, but hey, whatever works for you! Some of the go-to solutions are:
At the end of the day, CHICKEN IS A PROTEIN! No harm in enjoying a delicacy of the fried chicken and fries combo and a 2ltr soda. Maybe add a salad in your food menu once a week to balance your nutrients intake. Don’t forget an apple a day keeps the doctor away!
Anyway, I’m hungry. KFC fried chicken is calling my name!
